Best time to travel

There’s no specific time that is the best to visit Germany. It depends on what you’re doing in the country and what your holiday is like.

If you’re going on a city break or the amusement park, be careful not to go in the hottest summer or the coldest winter.

On the other hand, a water park or swimming pool is a great place to visit when it’s cold outside, as long as it’s indoors, and many German cities are very nice to visit at Christmas time, with all the decorations, Christmas markets and nice places to be.

Germany is a great destination for digital nomads. You can work and travel the country as it has a great infrastructure and exciting cities that have a lot to offer. If you do decide to make beer land you home, one of the first things you’ll need is money so make sure you know how to open a bank account in Germany.

Theme parks

Hansa Park

An amusement park located north of Lübeck. It is one of the larger amusement parks in Germany and has something for every child, young and adult. The park has been voted ‘best park’ several times. There are rides for the little kids and wilder things for the big ones, and so it’s almost impossible not to have fun as an adult too.

If you want to stay at the park, you can stay at an attached resort, or you can head to the nearby seaside town of Haffkrug and rent a place, where there are also nice eateries and a beach.

Heathland Park

The amusement park is located in Soltau in Lower Saxony and it is large. It is an attractive family park and has rides for all sizes as well as shows and lots to look at.

The park is 60 kilometers south of Hamburg, so you can either combine your trip with a weekend there or buy a two-day ticket and just enjoy life in the park. If you search online, many companies have offers for accommodation near the park.

Holiday in Harzen

A holiday in the Harz can be many things and is not necessarily synonymous with bus trips for pensioners, although it is an obvious destination for them too – no, the Harz is for everyone.

In fact, there are many hours of sunshine and beautiful scenery that lends itself well to hiking, walking, or even cycling. And the court town in the west, Goslar, is certainly worth a visit. It’s in the most beautiful area with the finest buildings and cozy restaurants.

You can also visit the town of Hahnenklee, which is located on a plateau, so there are many hikes in the area around it. You can ski here, or visit one of the many other cozy towns located in the Harz.

Take a train to Bloksbjerg

If you want to experience something different, take a ride up into the mountains on the Harzer Schmalspurbahnen, an old train that runs three routes around the area. There’s a short, steep route to the top of Bloksbjerg, where you can enjoy views of the Hochharz National Park.

You can also get on two other longer tours. And if you want to pass Bloksbjerg, you can hike up there yourself if you like. When you’re done standing on Bloksbjerg and enjoying the view, you can visit Germany’s highest dam, Rappbodetalsperre, and then take a walk in the stalactite caves “Hermann´s Höhle….and, well there are actually quite a few experiences to embark on when you travel to the Harz.

Berlin

Berlin is the capital of Germany and the center of art, culture, development, and fun. Many tourists come here for a long weekend or a shorter holiday with good food, history and walk the streets.

Berlin is a city of pleasure, where you can wander around and just experience without really having a destination. Or you can plan certain sights you’d like to see along the way – whatever you choose, Berlin will be an experience in itself. Also, make sure not to miss some of the most popular German Drinks & Beverages!

Berlin is a great place to holiday – tickets are relatively cheap, you can fly, drive, take the train or bus, and the food is good and affordable in Germany’s capital.

If you’re touring the city, stop by one or more of the most popular sights. You can round Alexanderplatz, Checkpoint Charlie, the Brandenburg Gate, the Television Tower, Kurfürstendamm or Postdamer Platz, and many more places, all symbolizing or marking something special.
